Land Acknowledgement
The land now called Kinghaven Farms was once part of the winter hunting grounds of the semi-nomadic Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, who would leave their more established summer settlements along the northern shore of Lake Ontario each year to travel up to the headlands of the various rivers that empty into the lake.
We acknowledge that the land we operate on resides in what is collectively referred to as the Toronto Purchase, and is the traditional territories of the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee and the Anishinaabe peoples, whose presence here continues to this day.
We are honoured to have the opportunity to interact with this land and are committed to its long-term stewardship through sustainable agricultural practices and continued partnerships with First Nations communities.
