Asian-Fusion Coleslaw

This Asian-fusion coleslaw dressing combines tangy sour cream, Kinghaven's Creamed Raw Ginger Honey with the warm, aromatic, and slightly sweet notes of Chinese five-spice. It is excellent for topping pulled pork, chicken burgers, or fish tacos.

Ingredients

For the coleslaw

  • 2 cups green cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup red cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup carrots shredded
  • 1 cup scallions minced
  • 1/4 cup thiny sliced red pepper

For the dressing

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Kinghaven Ginger Creamed Honey
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

Instructions

Step 1
Mix the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey.
Step 2
Spice & Aromatics: Whisk in the five-spice powder, garlic, and ginger until fully incorporated. Taste and add a pinch of salt if needed.
Step 3
Combine: Pour over shredded cabbage, red peppers, onions and carrots (or a standard 14–16 oz coleslaw bag).
Step 4
Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 to 60 minutes before serving to let the five-spice mellow and meld into the dressing.
